About

Hey! I’m Jon and thank you for visiting NFL Scout Trooper! On this site you’ll find detailed reports on hundreds of NFL prospects for the NFL draft. No matter what time of the year, whether it be the off-season or regular season the NFL Scout Trooper will still provide you with up-to-date reports on every prospect down to Mr. Irrelevant.

NFL Scout Trooper will also give you projections and ratings for each player that we scout. Each player will be put against standards used by Ron Wolf General Manager of the Green Bay Packers, who created a drafting system the New England Patriots still use. Using rating systems that measure not only athletic or how well they play on the field, but their character and injury history as well. All these combined produces a rating that gives a fairly accurate picture of how well a prospect will do once in the NFL.

I am a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and have been since almost before I can remember. I say almost because in my very early years I was an Eagles fan, but preferred to eat and sleep in my house so I gave in. Growing up in a Cowboy household I was taught everything about football from my dad. I learned all of the basics, how offenses and defenses worked, what each position did, and how to score. Eventually I learned the game within the game of football, zone vs man, defensive gameplanning, blitzes, offensive schemes, time management, and mismatches. The temporary pastime grew into a passion.

From then on I became more and more involved with the NFL and how it all worked. I began listening to podcasts and reading articles during the off-season. And then the draft season would come around. I wanted to be an educated fan but all I knew was who my team picked that day. I didn’t want to be satisfied with that. I had to know more. So I started scouting.

I began looking for websites who had film of college players declaring for the draft. I started watching the Senior Bowl, the East West Shrine Game, and the Scouting Combine. Taking all of that information I started writing my own scouting reports, not wanted to rely on the national media’s 1000 foot view on each prospect they had only spent minutes on, but getting a in depth and personal view on each and every prospect so that when that name was called I knew what type of player my team had drafted.

For the several years I perfected my craft, modifying and updating my processes for scouting players, adding different ranking systems, and becoming more efficient.

That is why I created NFL Scout Trooper. It is a way the normal average fan (just like me) can educate themselves quickly, from people who love the NFL like they do. Who do this not because they have to, but because they love what their doing. In 10 minutes they can understand who their team should target and why they should. They will have a idea what risks and advantages each player poses, and if he is worth that risk.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy!
